May
2nd . MySpace & More. |
| |
Wow.
I can't believe it's been a month since I've done anything here. In
any case, we've discovered myspace.
It's a great internet thing that helps us find new friends and whore
ourselves out even more! Hooray! Since it has an easy-to-use blog thingy,
I'll be updating blogs (that word just doesn't sit right w/me) more
often than this journal. So make sure to check both whenever you check
us out.
Here's
an update to the Mexican Food saga from the previous entry. My buddy,
Blaine, lives near "Mexican
Food" and informed me that it used to be a joint called "Tony's
Pizza." According to him, all "Mexican Food" did
was change the text and kept the flashing red and green lights. Wow,
who ever thought that you could save money by converting Mexican restaraunts
into Italian ones! Perhaps the nations' colour selection was engineered
as a means to keep changing food establishments easier between the two
delicious ethnic varieties. If you click on those names you can see
how I theoretically envisioned how the old sign used to look. Don't
pay attention to anything else on the pic, I don't have the time to
photoshop "sopas" into "ravioli."
We're
playing Wednesday, May 4th at the Farmer's Market. We've got a few
more shows there.

April
2nd. 1st Post-EP entry. |
| |
Way
back before this new slick design, the website had a rant section. Here
I (or sometimes a special guest) would pretty much just talk about whatever.
I feel like doing that. My friend asked me if I had ever been to "Mexican
Food" on Balboa and San Fernando. Intrigued by the name of the
restaurant, I decided to go there. I mean, who names their restaurant
the title of the type of food served? You're talking loco and I like
it. Lo-and-behold, I saw the sign -a huge sign that says "Mexican
Food" accompanied by red and green
flashing borders. It did not disappoint. I went in and ordered 2 enchiladas
(carnitas y al pastor). They were good. The meat was better than Los
Toros, but the rest was pretty much just slop (like Los Toros). I still
had doubts about the name, so I looked at the receipt. Maybe the receipt
would hold the true title of the restaurant and the huge attention getting,
generic sign was only to lure those who hunger for "Mexican Food."
Perhaps the receipt would be headlined, "David's Mexican Food"
or "Yummy and Good Mexican Food." Nope.
Simply "Mexican Food." Well, I suppose there is no point in
denying I went to "Mexican Food" on Thursday. It's kinda trippy
to eat at a place with the same name as the type of food I'm eating.
I
recommend "Mexican Food." btw-sorry for the blurry
images, they are from my phone.
Looks
like the next show is April 20th at Farmer's Market! We'll be play there
a few
times this season.

March
22nd. EP all finished! |
| |
Wow.
Hard to believe, but we finished the EP. It's great and yummy like an
orange mocha frappucino. Thanks to everyone who came and/or bought a
CD. This was the best turn-out we've ever had. Don't forget that we'll
be playing the Northridge Mall Farmer's Market quite a few
times this season. BTW, if anyone has any pics from the CD release
party, send them this way
and I'll put them online.
